What better way to kick off another beautiful summer than to round up the kids and head off to one of the Madrid amusement parks?
Enjoy a day of thrills, spills and chills with the roller coasters in Parque de Atracciones, visit the Eiffel Tower at Parque Europa or meet your favorite characters and see a show at Parque Warner; whatever it is that you and the kids enjoy, the amusement parks in Madrid are sure to have the ideal family day out. We have compiled a list of some of these amusement parks, along with the main attractions and how to get there so make sure you don’t miss out this summer!
Parque de Atracciones
Located in Casa de Campo, Parque de Atracciones boasts amusement rides, shows, shops and plenty of restaurants to keep you fueled for your day of fun. Feeling dare-devilish? Why not take on some of the extreme rides, such as the Abismo roller coaster and travel at 100km/h. Looking for something a little calmer? How about a trip down the Rapids – 800 metres of cascades, whirlpools and unexpected waves that are bound to cool you down in the summer heat! If you´re in the mood for something a little less hair-raising, there’s plenty of things to do for the whole family including boat trips through the heart of the forest and Nickelodeonland for the kids to enjoy!

- Metro Line 10 to Batán which will leave you 50m away from the park entrance!
- By bus: Line 33, Principe Pío – Casa de Campo or Line 65, Plaza Jacinto Benavente – Colonia Gran Capitán
- By car: Take the N-V (the Extremadura Highway), exit at Parque de Atracciones or from the M-30 direction Badajoz, exit at Parque de Atracciones/Casa de Campo.

Parque Europa
Take advantage of the free entry to Parque Europa in Torrejón de Ardoz this summer and then personalize your experience by booking guided tours/entrance to up to 18 replicated monuments including the Eiffel Tower, Trevi Fountain and the Berlin Wall to name but a few. When you’ve finished sight-seeing or simply need a break from the heat, stop off at one of the restaurants on offer. Whether it’s the traditional food in Plaza de España or chilling out in the Bucaramanga Hidden Garden there’s bound to be something that satisfies your cravings.
Interested in taking a trip to Parque Europa? Here’s how to get there:
- By car: take the A2 to exit 18 and follow the signs for the park
- By bus: take any of the following buses which will drop you near to the park, bus line 2, circular bus A (during the weekends), line 224-A Madrid Avenida de América – Mancha Amarilla
- By train: take any train going in the direction of Alcalá de Henares or to Guadalajara that stops in Torrejón de Ardoz and then connect with urban bus line 1 or 2 (L1 or L2)
Parque Warner
Whether you want to take a walk down Hollywood Boulevard, browse the brownstones of NYC, have a wonder through the Wild West or soak up the magic of Superhero World before finishing off with a cuddle from your favorite cartoon characters, Parque Warner is the place to go! Located in the southeast of Madrid in San Martín de la Vega, this theme park has something for the whole family to enjoy.
Here are the easiest ways to get to the park:
- By car: Take the A-4 highway to exit 22 and follow the signs for the park
- By Cercania: take the train to Pinto (C-3 line) and hop on the 413 bus from ‘La Veloz’ which will leave you at the entrance to the park! Check the bus schedules here, but remember they are subject to changes by the bus company.
- By bus: take the 412 bus from ‘La Veloz’ in the Villaverde Bajo bus interchange station which will take you right to the park. Click here to look at the bus timetable. Another option is to take the bus from Estación Sur de Méndez Álvaro where you can buy a ticket to Parque Warner + bus and this will also take you directly to the park. Aquópolis
Need to escape the summer heat? How about a trip to Aquópolis waterpark? With 2 locations in Madrid – Villanueva de la Cañada and San Fernando de Henares – there’s no shortage of water-based attractions to help cool you off this summer! Looking for an adrenaline rush? You can make a splash on one of the high excitement rides, such as the black hole, kamikaze or anaconda. If that’s not your style, why not try out one of the more moderate options such as the blue lagoon, speed slides; or you can just relax on ‘Malibu Beach’. There is also a separate children’s area and mini park at both locations. The 2017 season begins on the 15th of June in Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada and the 24th of June in San Fernando de Henares.

San Fernando de Henares location:
- By car: Take the N-II to exit 16A Zaragoza (Puente de San Fernando) next to the Carrefour
- By bus: lines 281, 282 and 284 from Avenida de América
- By train: take the train to San Fernando de Henares train station, at the exit take the city bus line U1 which stops at Carrefour next to Aquópolis
Villanueva de la Cañada location:
- By car:
- Take the M-600 road from San Lorenzo de El Escorial to Brunete
- Take the M-501 road from the M-40 and M-50 to Brunete
- Take the M-503 road from Villanueva de la Cañada to the M-50/Majadahonda
- By bus:
- Take line 627, Madrid-Brunete, from Moncloa Bus Station/metro Moncloa which leaves every 10 minutes
- Take line 581, Madrid (Principe Pío Intercambiador) – Quijorna which leaves every 40 minutes
